Mountain ranges
Mountain chains are spreading across the whole Omis Riviera. Most of the mountains are easily assessable and with clear paths made for trekking and mountaineering. Narrow cliff also provide options of climbing on multiple locations.
Omiš hinterland
Further from the seaside, on the other side of the mountain is valley suitable for cycling, walking and testing amazing authentic delicious from local cuisine such as prschutto, wine, cheese, shnaps and ”soparnik” – local pita like cake with spinach which is protected on the EU list of the non material national goods. There is also a monument to Mile Gojsalic which caries an interesting story about its heroine and a beautiful view of the whole landscape.
Great beach – main city beach
Quite big and spacious beach that is rewarded with blue flag for cleanliness standards and environmental awareness. It is full of pines and offers a relaxing option of shade in case you do not prefer sun tanning. Its full length is 500 meters and it is fully shallow all its length so it is suitable for people with disabilities and small children. There is a possibility of renting a beach equipment, kayaks, jet-skis or just relaxing in multiple bars, water parks and street work out park.
Slavinj – Brzet
Two beaches one next to each other on the edge of the city that are characteristics for deep and cristal clear sea, pines and tighny stone construction. There is a view of the whole Omis and islands of Brac and Solta opposite across the canal. There are bars and restaurants for refreshments and possibility or renting a beach equipment. It is easily reachable with the car possible to park right next to the beach.
Pirate battle
Besides all the activities and landscape, there is quite a lot of happenings during the summer in Omis such as Pirate Battle – simulation of the battle between Omis pirates and Venetian ships that is performing every august in the city harbor.
Dalmatian Traditional Singing Festival
Dalmatian Traditional Singing Festival spread across multiple weekends in July and final night and there is also a museum in the city centre dedicated to this amazing art of performing.
